Alternative Energy From The Wind

Did you know that using wind power can reduce your electricity bills by almost 80%? You might be thinking 'how'? And that's what we will be discussing today. It was about 7 years ago, when it was realized that wind power could also be used as an alternative source of energy. But it did not get popular due to its highly expensive installation prices. Well, not anymore! Scientists and other wind power planners have found out new ways of reducing the cost of wind power to less than $200!!

Let's dig deeper into the topic and find out how to make this possible. We need to keep in mind few things before we move on. First, we make sure that the average annual wind power does not go below 8 mph or else it is simply a waste of time. Just for the sake of reducing the expenses, it does not mean we change the principles of a windmill. If the wind speed goes below 8 mph, the energy would not be sufficient to satisfy our needs. So the wind speed must be kept in mind always.

Next, you must have enough space for building the windmill. The initial investment of $200 does not include payment of renting space or for getting someone to clean your garage, so make sure you do it yourself. Finally, you must consult your engineer as to where and how to get the parts for the windmill , all under $200, who will be also explaining how and what all you need to do to maintain your windmill.

It was merely a vision to able to create a wind powered energy source that would take only a few hundreds of dollars to build. But with today's technology and the discovery of alternative resources and materials to gain wind power energy, it is now a reality that everyone can take advantage of. The popularity of residential wind turbines can really benefit a lot of homemakers. Today, it is now possible to take advantage of wind powered energy whoever you may be.  So what makes the wind energy turbines affordable today than yesterday? Today, you can get the materials to produce wind powered energy at minimal cost. The basic things that you need, such as DC motors, are now made less expensive. How you build a wind powered energy turbine hasn’t changed. It is only the materials that you use that got a little modified. You can actually used recycled parts and employ unique technique and methods that can allow you to build your wind turbine much cheaper.

Back in the days, you need to weld your own windmill. Today, you can even get one for free. But of course, you need to be resourceful. The right designs can also make your wind powered energy turbine cheaper and more economical. Designing and employing the right plans can effectively help you build a wind turbine in a much affordable cost.
